If some of the words or terms I use on this site are unfamiliar to you, Here you will find definitions of exactly what is meant by, and included in, each type of web page design. Use this guide to ensure that you are ordering the right design for your needs.
Splash Pages are what you you use in traffic exchanges, They are small enough to show completely in view inside the frame of a surf page.
The aim of a Splash Page is not to actually sell any product or service, but rather to create a spark of interest so that the surfer will click on it to find out more and then be taken to a much more detailed and comprehensive sales page.
While they are surfing, people seldom take much notice of the pages they pass, this is because their main aim in surfing is always to gain as many surf credits as possible for themselves, they dont want to stop and waste surfing time trying to read all the pages. This means that in order for a splash page to be successful the page must hit them right between the eyes and say “click me” from just a very quick glance.
A Capture Page is often mistakenly called a splash page as well, but in fact it is quite different. The main aim of a capture page is to collect a name and email and build your list.
A Capture Page is ALWAYS connected with an autoresponder.
It should not be used on traffic exchanges, but is ok to use just about anywhere else. if you want to use it on traffic exchanges what you should do in fact is to use a splash page which directs to it instead.
A Capture Page is still not a Sales Page as Such because it must not actually mention the name of the site or product it is promoting, however in every other respect it needs to “sell” the concept of that unknown product or service so that people reading it will be happy to give you their email in order to find out more.
Give-Aways or Bribes are also often used to persuade the reader to insert their email, if used these bribes need to be of good quality and not generally available on the internet, otherwise they will not work.
A static page will always be viewed the same, but an animated page will have either a moving image or changing text, it may pass through several different states, but care should be taken as animation greatly increases page size so it should not be over used.
