Special Effects when used sparingly will add interest to your site. They should however not be overused and care should be taken that they enhance the message which is being conveyed on the page rather than being too overpowering and detracting attention from the text.

Scrolling Text
Scrolling text can be added to a page and made to scroll in any direction, so it could just scroll straight across the page or could for instance be made to scroll around another object.
