Hi I’m Wendy,
I am a 49 year old mum and grandmother, living in a small village near leicestershire, UK. I enjoy a quiet life, I read, watch tv, play with my grandaughter, but most of all I spend time on my computer.
It has long been an ambition of mine to move to a sunnier climate, and with that in mind, I set about trying to earn a living online, so that I had a source of income which I could take with me.
Along the way I made a lot of online friends, and built downlines in several programs. I was a good sponsor and did my best to help my downlines succeed, by making them splash pages and banners and setting up various advertising campaigns for them.
A few years ago someone suggested to me that instead of wasting my time and money on all these programs which worked well for a while then just died a death, I should be using my talents with graphics to make money.
So with very little knowledge, and battling against my natural impulse to do things for my friends just to help them out, I finally set up Wendys Web Page Design. I was amazed at how quickly it took off! I found that I was swamped with jobs, but I still wasnt really making any money, lol. How can this be?……. well, my charges were way too low for the time I was taking to do the jobs, and also both friends and new clients were asking me to do little things apart from the main graphics work, such as troubleshooting a script problem, or looking at some coding for them, and I wasnt charging for these little favors at all!
Eventually I have come to realise, that while I still consider all of my clients as friends, and although I still want to stay very competitive, and give an excellent service without charging the earth for it, the fact is that I have had to raise some of my rates a little, particularly on the bigger jobs, in order to earn an online wage that is hopefully going to come close to giving me a reasonable living.
I do design work for all kinds of people, from a long established recording studio with its own record label, to complete newbies who just want a cheap banner making for them, But, probably because of my very cheap prices, I have come to find that the bulk of my work is coming from Traffic Exchanges, particularly for some reason, those which are built on the Ventrino traffic exchange script. This work ranges from Splash Pages and Banners, through to full site templates.
Because of a growing number of these template design jobs, I have decided to open a second site Templates 4 Scripts which will deal with all the larger jobs such as site templates and full site design
I hope that you will all bear with me during the interim while I am trying to build the new site and re-build this one, I will be adding more to both sites as quickly as possible.
